This half-day online course provides a practical introduction to the design tool Earth Energy Designer (EED). The course gives practical training in using the design tool EED and to solve basic ground source heat pump system design tasks.
Recommended previous knowledge: Basic geoenergy knowledge
Target group: Engineers and contractors aiming at designing BTES systems.
Aim: After this course the participant will know how to use the design tool Earth Energy Designer (EED) to perform basic borehole design calculations and manage input and output files.
Course contents:
- Design tools and how EED works
- EED menus
- Practical training in EED use – Parameter study, and borehole system design
ONE-DAY ONLINE BTES DESIGN WITH EED
Register to the course HERE.
Price: 800 EUR excluding VAT (Note: A valid VAT for cross border transactions within the EU is a requirement for VAT exclusion)
Language: English
Time: 09-17 CET
Course dates: March 19th 2024, November 5th 2024
Instructors: Göran Hellström & Signhild Gehlin
This design course covers design of larger ground source heat pump systems and borehole thermal energy storage systems. Design conditions and considerations are discussed. The course gives practical training in using the design tool EED while solving several typical ground source heat pump system design cases.
Recommended previous knowledge: Basic EED design tool knowledge, e.g. from EED Basic Course above, or similar experience.
Target group: Engineers and contractors aiming at designing BTES systems.
Aim: After this course the participant will know how to use the design tool Earth Energy Designer (EED) to perform basic design of borehole thermal energy systems for extraction and storage of heat and cold.
Course contents:
- Further knowledge in ground properties
- System operation – large systems
- System design – large systems
- Pre-design studies
- Design prerequisites
- Design tools and how EED works
- Practical training in designing borehole thermal energy systems with EED – Heat extraction, cold extraction, recharge, seasonal storage of heat and cold (balanced system)
